Tell me about it! These things can drink some gas. Sometimes it feels like I'm at the gas station every other day.

With me about to buy a Lightning, you guys really scare me the way you always bring up the gas issue. I keep thinking surely they won't get any worse mileage then my Jeep tho, so I shouldn't worry about it...at least I'll have some damn power to haul something or pass people when I feel I need to. As long as I stay in the double digits MPG wise I'll be fine.

Inline 6 jeep w/ 33in tires and stock gearing = ~10-12mpg.

Later,

12 - 14 MPG is about right for city/highway driving. Step on the loud pedal and it goes down a bit... Keep the pedal floored and watch the gas gauge move in real time... :-)

I'm sure you heard the saying before. 'If you can't afford the upkeep, you can't afford the . . . . . fill in the blank with what ever the subject (ie. woman, house. . .)

Question Fuel economy?

Come on guys, put the hammer down and enjoy the G rush while we still can, before all the petrolium products run out, they can't last forever. I wouldn't have bought a land rocket if I was worried about fuel economy, enjoy your ride, John H.

I read

... in a magazine that Lightnings get 2.6 mpg at WOT. Forget the name of the mag, but it's out now - has a picture of a red 03 Cobra, an 03 Viper, and a couple other cars on the cover.

I was halfway joking ... I'd still get it if it only got 6mpg (which it probably will the way I drive). I'd just use my 900rr for my work commute a little more. heh.

That article is in the new issue of Automobile magazine. Just as a side note there is also an article about a Lincoln LSE.... it has the eaton blower on it producing 350 h.p.

Use it all up. It's Arab oil, and it's still very cheap. When it's all gone, it'll just be USA, the Venezuelans, the Dutch, and the Siberians. No more Arab influence on world politics.

Besides, if we don't use it up, the Chinese will.
