Thumbs up New to Lightnings, Just got an 02!

I have had a 96 Vobra for the last 4 years but when I saw the Trublue I just had to have it. So now I am looking for things to do to it. I took it down to the local dynojet a couple weeks ago. With 750 miles on it I made 360.2HP and 425Tq. I hope this sounds about right. Only problem I see so far is that boost seems to drop off a little in second gear. Like it is being bled off or something.
Also, Is there anyone around in the swell state of Washington I can hook up with sometime to talk about mods with?

Welcome to the board....

You are getting the ever famous BOOST DUMP, try a search and you will see many ways to cure it. Those Dyno #'s look great man!!

First Basic Performance Mods are:

Chip
Filter
Lower Pulley

Then the list goes on......

All of the tuners do a great job. Who I use is in my signature....

Welcome to the community! I know how you feel about the Blue, I did the same thing (traded an '00 Silver last week)

First, read all you can, there's a ton of info here and at nloc.net, among others.

Second, choose a tuner

Third, give him all your money and your first born now, it'll save you a lot of time...

If you have any tranny problems, let me here about it, I'm a repairman at the plant where the tranny is built, so I can ussually help out with those, or point you to someone who can.

Thumbs up Outstanding,

Mark!

Like to hear comparisons between your two vehicles once you've had some experience with your new L.

Is that at the wheels? If so please tell me you have some mods. If that is stock RWHP then you have a very strong truck.

Anyway first thing to do to it:
bedrug
Wet Okole seat covers
new 5x7 speakers for the front door
and if you want to do some suspension work do it now

after a few thousand miles:
Chip-filter-pulley combo, line/accumulator mod, snythetic oil - all for under $1k, definate bang for the buck.

Sorry, but I cant make it to Pacific Raceways till later in the afternoon. Would love to meet with you guys though.
I did the Boost Bypass last night and it cured my problems. Thanks a bunch. I also went ahead and ordered the 2 inch JDM drop shackles and a K/N filter. Will get them on this weekend.

The Mystic Vobra #0002 I traded in on the Lightning made 444HP and 350Tq. It was of coarse much faster but had its downfalls. The biggest reason for trading it in was the fact that I was scared to boost it. Hypertective pistons made me to scared to have fun with it. Also the mystic paint is cool but a nightmare when it comes to keeping people from keying it. The car was just more worry's than fun. Now with the Lightning, there is no problems with having a lead foot. Even though it is a little slower (right now) I am still having WAY more fun with it.
