No Boost...

Hello, I'm new here and I'd like to start off with a tech question. Sometimes when running at the track or on the street I loose boost. It happened to me at the track this weekend, 1st gear=10lbs/2nd gear=0 to 2 lbs/3rd gear=same. the next 5 passes were all normal, 10 lbs. all 3 gears. Sometimes it just drops off for a second but returns almost immediatly.

Thanks in advance,
Payton

Welcome.. It is a common problem... Do a search for lost boost and youll see 10's or 100's of posts talking about the various ways to correct it...

There is also some good information in the Gen 2 FAQ

No Boost

You need a boost bypass kit, JDM sells it, Just 3 plastic fittings and your done. Easy install too.

That has nothing to do with why he lost boost.

His problem is from hitting the rev limiter. You are talking about correcting the factory program dumping boost at the 1-2 shift for tranny life.

Or you could just save yourself some time and money. Just disconnect the boost bypass plug.

I'm with Soap- this isn't a bypass issue.

How new is your vehicle? It is totally normal for this to occur until the break-in period is over, then the boost should stay high regardless of gear.

Just wait a little until you rack up a few more miles and then the 'problem' (which is actually a good thing) will correct itself.

Usually by about 12-15,000 miles these trucks 'wake-up' nicely.
