I attribute my 60ft times to the track. Both tracks in my area are quite sticky. I didnt do anything special, held at 1000rpm and nailed it on the green. 1.90 60ft stock of F1's

If you have a 99 with the stock tires the compounds is not the same as the 01 F1's. Best results is 1000rpm's to mat or roll out if you have to.....

Nailed it on green????????????!?!?!?!?!!!!!

I wouldn't mind a few pointers... not sure how you guys can just punch it on launch... I have to roll in very slowly until about 15MPH or I'm spinning like crazy...

when I bring the r's to 1000, and then floor it on green, I spin for about 45 feet...(even more on the street, with some nice parallel black marks ) what gives? how are you guys getting traction? I have an 02 with F1's with 2600 miles...

Try holding it at 1000rpms, then letting the truck move about a truck length then mat it. Thats what I did on my F1's and could get 1.8's all the time...

I dont beleive in holding back on a run! If you have to roll before you floor it, then your not going to go your fastest. If I knew I would have traction problems every time I went to the track, I wouldn't go until I got better tires, or something.

My local track(s) hold just about anything you can put to them.

One day US41 in Morocco, IN preped the HELL out of the track in anticipation of a IHRA event. I was running low 1.7's on F1's in my '99

RT66 in Joliet, IL, you can do what ever you want and that track hooks. They even VHT the track on test-n-tune days 330ft out. They have Funny cars tune there on the same nights as everyone else. To give you an idea, RT66 went through almost 60--55 gallon drums of VHT last year.

I have no 60ft time secrets. It's all in the track.

Jason

Both very true statements, I want to go to the mat ever time I leave the line!!

Mike, the first thing you need is a new trAck. LACR is crap. Plain and simple, it sucks. Unless they let you lay out your own VHT that's the best you're going to get for a 60ft. without any traction aide, or some sort of sticky tire.

All So Cal tracks suck (with exception to Pomona, but we all know how much they allow us to race there!)
