Exclamation Oops, did just make a moron of myself?

First off, no, I'm not a lightning owner, but I have much respect for the trucks and definitely can appreciate a pretty lightning when I see one . But did I just put too much confidence into the L? Check out my post on another forum, and the replies it generated:

Oh, also, a fair warning... some of the guys on the audi forums aren't big fans of trucks in general...

ugh! I dunno if I have any respect left for a lot of Audi owners.

the other night I was coming back from a pool hall in Secaucus, driving down rt 46 East since I followed my buddy in 2002 True Blue Lightning as he took rt 3 to the end (than we separated) anyway... I'm flying along at 2:30am without a care in the world as there are absolutely no other cars around on the road... two cars enter the highway from the Garden State Parkway ramp... a Honda Civic Riced Out but not stickered up, and an S4.... the S4 wants to be a genious and attempts to pass the Civic, at precisely the time I'm passing him at 85mph.... I did not expect him to do it because the nose of my car was right by his door and no matter how blind the **** could have been (this is me thinking at the moment) I figure he'd at least see my headlights next to him as I was no longer in his blind spot... well the genious still continues going into my lane and sandwitches me between the metal divider and his car... I slam on the breaks and watch as my mirror is practically touching his window on the door, and than he takes a wild swerve into his lane... I continue going to get on the same level as he, and look over with the "WTF???" look on my face, and he attempts to run away!

I was like, you've got to be kidding me kiddo... so I step on it (not exactly the smartest thing to do, it would of been a lot easier to just take his license plate down) and get to about 120mph just after we passed Clifton... in no time he becomes two tiny sparks of light in my rearview.... (again I dunno why but it made me feel good at the moment) As I get home, put my car in the garage, take two big spot lights out and put them on the right side of my car and just go thru the entire side inch by inch to make sure no scratches are there.... luckily there were none! I was glad... but pissed that people could be so careless and get away with it.... I'm a Careless Driver according to the State of NJ because every time I do or don't even do something stupid I get busted! geez!

Unhappy You lose respect for most Audi drivers because of one incident with one moron?

I don't mean to start a flame war or anything, and I do inderstand that incidents like that are infuriating... but honestly don't blame all of us Audi drivers for the mistakes of one audi driver. And truthfuly, do you think he would have tried to pass and run you off the road like that on purpose? Maybe he just didn't see you...

don't get me wrong I have nothing against them...

but generaly the ones in North Jersey area are pretty much like this, and it pisses me off since that type of incident wasn't the first or the only one.

You gotta have some sympathy for the S4 owners in Jersey though... those guys are getting their cars jacked so much in NJ lately... it's not even funny.

That guy must drive a mini-van during the day. Mini-van drivers are the worst drivers on the planet... I don't understand it. I don't like it. But it's true... Hey, lets go 5 under in the left lane...

I wish there were road tests every 5 years or so to make sure people can drive competently. Also, IQ tests should be mandatory to get a license... People with an IQ less that 75 (Chimp level) should not be allowed to drive. I am quite confident this would remove licenses from at least 85% of all mini-van drivers.

*******ing mini-vans...

ok, my some-what psychotic outburst is over.

I feel much better though...

On a lighter note, I saw my 3rd Lightning ever (besides my own) in Wiscosin today... no one has these things out here...

Anyone on this board (that owns an L) in the Milwaukee area?

ho-hum...

I read this alot, the fastest way to resolve it is to invite them to the track in your area. They will probably bow out like many of the R/T owners do.
I see plenty of Lightnings at the track, and don't recall any Audi's
though I do see a Lexxus or two.
One thing to avoid is trying to talk up Lightnings in other forums though, that can be a no win situation in the Import Forums.

A buddy of mine has an S4 and a Boxster S. I have embarrased both of them at the track. Not even close and that was over a year ago when I had less mods...

Here is link to my 4700 lb " brick delivery vehicle " running a 12.52.. Only performance mods were Chip, FIlter and 2# pulley...

http://talon.svtlightnings.com/movies/doughood.mpg

Soon after that run I dynoed at about 390 hp....

Unfortunately I dont have any pictures of me staged next to the S4..

Hmm... 2:30am, erratic reckless driving Audi . ==> DUI.

Be careful out there. An Indiana state trooper friend once told me that on weekends after 12am something like 1/4 of all drivers are legally drunk.

snoopy you're absolutely right...

I was caught off guard though, I always expect others to watch out for the ex-cop car... I should of been more careful.

Do you have a dyno chart of your truck that you could link me to? I'm trying to represent you L boys over at audiworld, but theres still some skpeticals.

This is a directly quoted reply to my posting of your link:

"He would have to be running ~500 hp to make that run.. And remember, the drag calculator is generous..

http://www.turbofast.com.au/Drag.html"

It's so hard to get enthusiasts of different cars to agree that there ARE other fast, fun vehicles out there....
