18" fronts, 20" rears?

Yep, as long as they are all the same (or real real close)

Well the stock 295/45 tires are 28.45" high, and 295/40/20's would be 29.29 high, which is .84" higher, that is definately enough to throw the ABS sensor out of wack.

Hey Capt. I may be wrong....but I have heard that as long as the tires diameters were within 5% they wont mess with the ABS system. But then again, that was some schpeal that a "Ford Engineer" told me....so take it with a grain of salt....LOL.
Check out the Screw that Street Scene has out now. It has 20's up front and 22's in the rear.to kinda give you an idea how the big little combo would look. I myself have thought of doin the same. There was a write-up on it and it's build up in Truckin and no mention of any problems because of the difference in size. Also as long as the tires are +/- 1 size dealer can reprogram or a custom chip can fix any probs in computer caused.

I say reverse the idea. Tall and skinny in front and short in the back with big meats.
trubaco - the tires you have aren't that much larger. According to my calculator your fronts are 29.7" and the rears are 30.0", which is only a difference of 1%.
The ones I want are 295/45/18's in the front which are 28.45" high, and 295/40/20's for the rear which would be 29.29 high, which is .84" higher, or about 2.9%.
So if what Orphaner said, if they are within 5%, the 2 sizes I want will work. Just gotta find that out now.
ps - do you have any pics of your truck with the sidepipes, I saw them a long time ago and wanted to show my frined but can't find them anymore.
Captain,
I agree with you,
i like the original idea of the combo, and also do not want to mess with the fronts like that. We would be changing rears a bit faster as we'd have not front rotation, but for looks....worth it.

Capitano, I trust your math, in fact I realize after re-reading the post that the topic was wheel sizes, not tire sizes - it just seems like there is a notable difference of more than a fraction of an inch.
Let me see if I have any photos and I'll stick them on a new thread.
