Question Octane boosters...any thoughts on NOS brand?

I have installed my JDM kit with flip chip and am getting some pinging in high gear when "lugging." I am going to try some of the NOS but they have 3 types: street, off road, and race. Those of you running it, which one do you use, and do you use 1 can to a full tank? Thanks in advance for any help!

Jimmy

Save your money. Go to your local paint supply store and pick up some Tuloene. Mix approx 1gal of Tol to 3 gallons of super. Better yet get your chip reburned. Even minor detonation will kill a L motor.

That would save some $$, I know this is a dumb question, but on their flip chip which is position 1 street or strip? I can't tell any diff between the street and strip (on the street anyway).

Takecover, most of your octane boosters off the shelf will say they are going to raise your octane number from 4 to 14 points, what they are saying is in tenths so you will get a total of from 93.4 to 94.4 max this ant much. Check out this article on Toluene.

Occasionally, I will use the NOS street octane booster, if I get a bad tank of gas. This works in a pinch, but I wouldn't use it for everyday use.

If the truck is pinging, I would get the chip reburned until it is right. You can seriously hurt these motors, and have it happen quickly, if you detonate them too much.

When I race the truck, I take the safe route, and just add 5 galons of 100 octane 76 unleaded gas to an almost empty tank. This works, great, and I don't need to mess up mixing chemicals. I flunked chemistry,so I stick with race gas.

Been using Torco for over a year now. It is awesome. Better than octane booster, cheaper than race gas, and if you go out in the first round, you don't feef so bad driving around for the next few days on $5.00/gal gas.
