Can't Stop Spinning???

I've heard a few of the launch techniques on here. But I need to know which is the best. I just added the JDM Stage 1 Kit & I seem to have much more of a problem launching now (I guess its the added power) This is the technique I have been trying to use: RPM's reving at about 1200 & lay down the gas pedal but there is still some pretty serious spinning. Any other advise??

Also I have been running the 1/4 mile at about 105 consistantly. Is this a pretty decent time with the mods I have. Thanks for your help!!

My best launches have come from sitting at around 1100, and then laying into the throttle slowly at first and then more agressive toward the end.

I've tried higher and lower levels, and that is where I got my best times. I sat in a big parking lot one night with my gtech and did about 50 launches checking the 0-60 times... I could feel it also... Once I got it down I could launch with no wheel spin right on the edge of traction break...

Since you don't have unlimited runs at a track to practice, I suggest to do the same thing... Just make sure no one's around! I was ok, because the lot was owned by my father, so John Q Law couldn't have done *****, even if they did come to harass me.

Just my 2 cents.

That is not a time it is the mph

I would try launching at idle and rolling into it, not matting it.....you will NEVER get traction on F1's if you mat it.

1/4 mile time

Sorry I do not have a time for the quarter. I have not been to the track yet. They have the quarter marked off near where I live & when I cross the line im running about 105. Is this a decent speed for my mods??

I would say to go to a track. The only thing that matters is your ET not the mph. Besides your "measured off" 1/4 mi could be a little shorter/longer than it should be

Silver:

'IF' your measurements are correct then 105 mph is reasonable to a tad high.

Joe is correct---we really are more interested in the quickness(ets) than in how fast(mph) we go. Having said that, your mph is an indication of how much HP your truck is putting out Incidentally, your launch and your 60 feet times are 'key' to a quick 1/4 mile.

My advice don't launch that way.

Launching these beasts, especially on stock tires is harder then
one thinks.

I say start from idle and feather the throttle. Feel how the truck reacts and if the tires spin or not. As you get more comfortable give it more gas. Once the tires start spinning, don't give it as much gas as the next time. Then start with bringing the RPM's up before you launch. One step at a time.

Thats what I've been doing. So far after about 20 runs at the strip I went from 2.3's down to 2.0's/ low 2.1's for my 60ft times. Once I start going again this year I'll improve even more.
