I just glanced at a article I saw in a magazine, they swapted the standard Eaton 8psi boost blower for a more powerful one. I think they had it running 16.5psi's of boost with the new one. I didn't have a chance to read all the details, but I remeber that they dynoed the Lightning after the blower swap, and it was producing 486 HP! When I saw that I said wow! but I was still skeptical because my guess would be that the standard Lightning 5.4 can't or won't beable to last too long with that big of change in boost. I figure that doing this would just put a lot more stress on the engine, and that it wouldn't last very long. What is everyone's opinion? I thought it was a pretty cool article, did anyone else read this? I think the magazine was called: Mustange's and other Ford's, but I'm not sure...

The article you saw was probably the one about the new Kenne Bell blower. If you plan on getting the upgrade, plan on getting new internals beforehand or a new engine afterhand This blower and all of the other ones that are coming out are not available yet but should be soon.

 

Yeah that is what I figured, like I said I just glanced at the article. Thanks for giving me some more details, I don't have an L, I'm just a huge fan. Saving up right now, but I think I'll wait for awhile. Check out my other post: What will Ford do 4 2003?. I would like everyone's opinion, or if possible the latest news from Ford. Thanks.

 

One more thing, nice truck J15!!!! But then again I've never seen a L that isn't nice.

 

What I want to know is will that thing mate up to an '03 Cobra engine?

if you ever do decide to get a lightning you are already ahead of all the other new L owners because you know of this board. theres lots of info here. you can pretty much ask anything about Lightnings and someone will know the answer.

Thanks J15, believe me it will be a Lightning. I'm a die hard Ford guy, and the Lightning is my dream truck. I love Cobra's, GT's, and Saleen's but I'm 6'5" and I don't fit in cars too comfortably. This is why I own a F-150, and why I'm saving up for an L. I think about the Lightning and talk about it all of the time, it makes my girl pretty jealous.lol.. I even keep up with the latest mods. out for them, and I keep pictures of them online not to mention posters I have up. I live in an area full of rice rockets-civics,accords,acura's, you name it, it is here and it has a big noisey muffler on it. I can't wait till I get my L in a few years, they all think their weak *** imports are soo fast, well they haven't seen nothing yet. I already beat most of them with my modified 4.2, and I got to say that thing is slow!!! I can't wait to see the look on his little face when I pull up too is wannabe "Fast and the Furious" car with a new L. There are no imports around hear running even close to the 13's, and after I mod. I'll get it in the 12's easy. I just hope Ford throws in their S/C 32 Valve DOHC 5.4...Then look out 11's, that will be one fast truck!!!
