Hey, I bought the bullitt fuel door and then cut the lanyard on the gas cap so it wouldnt dangle when I was getting gas and scratch the truck. Got gas at a full serve soft cloth gas station, they must have forgot to screw it back on. Where can I get another one fast? I dont want rain getting in or water from washing it. It has rained almost every day here for 2 weeks. Do I have to order one from a dealership? Are there aftermarket ones? Thanx in adv.

your local autoparts sotre (autozone maybe) should have something that will fit

From what I have gleaned on these boards, you should replace your gas cap ASAP. I believe there is a sensor that monitors the pressure in the gas tank, for EPA reasons, and without the gas cap a code may be set and driveability may be affected.

That happened in my parents Expedition. Didn't put it on all the way and it threw a code.

 

I got a real nice Ford Locking gas cap at the dlr.Cost like $20.

 

I got a locking one from pepboys for $15.00
