Tip for Billet Antenna users(pics)

I put my billet antenna on and did not like the black pieces underneath. So I went to ford and ordered the chrome piece. It is off the Lincoln Navigator Part # F85Z-18A927-AA . It only cost a couple dollars.Put it on and there was still a gap for the difuser that was black. So I went to pep boys.Went to the ricer aisle and picked up SPECTRE Chrome bolt caps(size 1/2 inch,12 mm .Part # 1408.Then I Drlled a 1/4 inch hole in it to fit over the adapter threads and it covered the defuser perfect.Give it a try.[IMG][/IMG]

The Spacer is in between the cap and the antenna.

Joe(Soap)

I am having a BLAST!!!!!

Thanks for the compliments on the Street Scene wiper cowl. The quality is not a tenth as good as the pro-glass hood.My body shop guy spent way more time prepping that then the hood.

Vinnie -

I was having the same concerns with my billet antenna. I went and bought the Lincoln chrome bezel a few months ago, but didn't like the way it looked with the black part sticking out. Thanks for the tip with the Spectre bolt kit, it looks perfect now!

By the way, i noticed some rust on the adapter bolt on my antenna. You might want to check yours occasionally for it as well.

Vin - very nice looking! Especially the cowl. Instead of getting the chrome antenna base piece I painted mine to match, came out okay.

Badazz,

I am not able to find the chrome base piece on F150world. Is it still there or can I purchase it from a local dealer?

Thanks,

Jag

Wow this was an old post and I got the email update for it

It should just snap off if I remember right as the cover just snaps back on. I did mine almost 8 yrs ago and it still looks like the day I did it....of course this was on the older model F150s
