thats why you should get rid of that EGR crap anyway, HEHEHEHEHHEHE. Makes changing plugs a hell of allot nicer too!

Thumbs up Problem Solved!!!

Hats off to the guys at Tommy Vaughn Ford in Houston. Esspecially Steve a.k.a. "MYREDTOY". They took the time to check out my truck at a moments notice one hour before closing. It was narrowed down to the ICV when they tapped it with a hammer while the truck was running and killed it. Removal of the ICV revealved dirty internals. A quick cleaning didn't change much and without leaving the truck overnight for further testing, I took the chance and bought the $60 part. A two bolt, 5 min. operation later the smooth idle was back! Thanks again Steve!

I always think of the IAC with an idle problem. They can get dirty/worn over time. How many miles on your L? You can take it off and flush out the insides(vane that rotates) with a solvent and see if the vane frees up if it was sticky/sluggish, otherwise, replace it.

Not sure if it's Federal law, but up to 50,000 miles your dealer has to replace/fix any problem relating to emissions - which this seems to relate to. Also, even if it's not emissions related that part should not fail so easily and you should write Ford's district office and tell them the part prematurely failed and demand a refund. Works for me - even after 50k miles.
