Red face LED tail lights... don't waste your time

I was window shopping at my local auto parts store and found these cool looking LED bulbs for the tail lights... kinda like the instant on/off of the LED's so I bought them and what a disappointment...

Even though these things have twelve LED on each bulb... they don't have enough peripheral lighting to show up as well as the stock bulb...

Oh well... just a word of caution...

Unless someone has found an LED bulb that really works… don't waste your time on this one...

I have a set of the LED bulbs in the rear from APC, and they seem to be brighter, which is what i needed with my dark tinited windows. I have found some places online that sell different voltages of the LED bulbs in red, amber and clear depending on what you need and are willing to spend.

I bet they do look good

But mine is a 2001 with the clear tail lights and due to the clear lense... it just didn't work very well...

So maybe if someone with a 2001/2002 has a tried this and can recommend a better bulb...

We need one that has LED's facing to the sides as well as back.

Most of the LED lights are designed for vehicles where the Light only needs to project back.

Now those might work! They have lights facing sideways! Not like the cheapos from Autozone/APC.

What year L do you have and do you have these lights installed?

I just think the 01 and 02's, by way of the design of the taillights that no LED will work well unless the bulb has LED's on the circumference to illuminate the taillight properly...

I went to the site you mentioned and it reads well... but I couldn't find a good example of what the bulb looks like. It does say they do custom applications but I got a feeling they'd be real $$$...
