Yes... easily. There's not much difference between the 99/00 and 01/02. A new airbox and larger (90mm) maf and you are pretty much there against a stock 01/02, performance wise. Gears might help also, but I've seen that argument go both ways.

I don't know, but my 99 went 12.28 last year with not nearly as many mods as she has on her today!

Heck, if you spend enough money a Civic can be made as fast as a 2001 L.

There is NO need to go with a 01/02 to go fast.A 00 will get you there almost just as easy but the 01/02 a a little faster stock.Yes I love my 02 much more than my 00 but if I didnt have the 02,I would still love the 99/00 just the same. The differences are REFINEMENTS not must have upgrades

I have a '99 and have yet to be beat (drag racing or on a road course) by a similarly modded '00, '01, or '02. Not saying that the '99's are faster or better (although I do have my own personal opinions) just that they aren't slouches either.

Actually. . .any Lightning can be made to run with or beat any other Lightning if you care for it, maintain it, and carefully select modifications that work to enhance the set-up you have (not the one you are gonna have someday). When the time comes to step up and replace some hard parts- do it right, do it once. Get all the parts you need to have the set-up you want up front. Talk to tuners &/or people who have the set-up you want. That way there's no 'suprises' to worry about or discover 1/2 way through the install.

Later,

Hey Weedo,

My mods are listed in my signature, but basically just a reflashed PCM, the factory upgraded intercooler, K&N panel filter, and a FlowMaster muffler. Now, I didn't set this truck up for drag racing (though I was tempted to get the 6lb. PSP pulley and their chip along with some of Jay Lincolns bars and some MT Sportsmans and go light it up). But I was more tempted by the AutoCross bug. It's hard to resist the twisties with this truck- as you well know.
The last time I ran the 1/4 mile I got 13.303 @ 100.027 on F1's. My 60' was 2.14 (that's shifting it manually). Letting it shift itself, my best was 13.581 @ 98.221. So whoever thinks this truck will go faster if you let it shift is dead wrong.

The next mod I do will be the Factory Tech valve body. THEN I'll let it shift itself. I put two of those bad boys in some friends' trucks and WHOA-BOY!!!

Later man,

I have one ready to be put in as well!! Can't wait to get it in there... hearing those fat tires chirp 'em in 2nd at 50mph. Oh yeah!!
13.3 is great for so few mods. Especially considering mine was a 13.25 with a 4#. My mile per hour hit at 105 so my HP is definitely higher. Then again i've only gone once with the mods. Time to shoot for the 12's!

Dude- I'd rather have run your 13.25 @105 than my 13.3 @ 100!!!!

I like MPH numbers better than E.T. It's a true gauge of power.

Here's my philosophy: Racing from a roll on the street (let's face it- this is where & how most races happen) a 12 second car that has a 98 mph trap speed will get it's butt KICKED HARD by a 14 second car that runs a 107 mph trap speed!!! Fast cars have MPH, and may have ET. Quick cars have E.T., but rarely have mph. You can get quick with smoke and mirrors (like gears etc.) but you can't get faster without some MAJOR mods.

In other words- on the street you'd torch me from a roll.

But on the PIR or the Firebird/Bondurant road course. . . . . .
