Getting My new Silver L today at 10am....

man, I am excited, hehe.....picking up a 2002 silver Lightning today at 10am. Trading in my 99 Civic Si for it, lol (don't laugh, I bought that car STRICTLY for autocross and kicked some but with it in the chicago region!) but now I am ready for some HP again. i also previously owned/built a 93 GT with all the goodies and a Vortech SC so it feels good to be coming home, hehe. Gonna be stock for a while but we will see I am 37 and my wife says I am having a mid life crisis....what does she know??

Hah, I'm 56 and bought my Silver 02 in Feb. Wife says I'm living a second childhood and my L is not a real truck. That last statement almost caused a divorce! But like you said, what does a wife know about trucks. BTW, congrats on getting the fastest color and welcome to the family.

What does a wife know about trucks ?

I'll tell you what a wife knows.....
Mine knows she would rather drive my Supercrew over her Explorer because it has Flowmasters on it and sounds better.
But what she found out last Friday scares me. She has found out that if she gets in my Lightning, backs out of the driveway, and hits the throttle like she does in the Supercrew, that she deposits
two long black marks up the middle of the road....
Then she has the presence to say, " Didn't realize why you do that when we are cruising until now, sure feels good ".
I guess I am doomed......

Darn it! Had I known this, I wouldn't have picked up the 650lb of topsoil and mulch at the garden center this weekend! I guess we'll have to use her Infiniti sedan for this kind of work from now on...

I use mine mostly for hauling. Sometimes I haul bikes, other times I haul gardening stuff - the rest of the time I just haul a__.

Lightningfun,

Welcome to the board! You're in for the time of your mid-life

Mine is silver too and just a few minutes ago I had a man in a Mercedes backup, at a stop light, and roll his window down to tell me what a good looking truck I had. He also said it sounded good! Made my day, again.

Thumbs up

Congrats Tom. I'm 41 and have had the '01 for just over a year. It was my wife owning a '94 since new, that had me looking at L's back in '99.

First mod should be a radar detector. Have fun, but be careful and keep the license clean.

I have 25,000 miles and still grinning.

Oh, BTW, my wife would really like a new '03 Cobra 'vert, Jag X type R, Focus SVT, Escape or Tribute w/ blower, KR SuperCrew, PowerStroke SuperDuty........on & on. LOL I'm happy she's a motorhead, but am trying to figure out how to do all this ? LOL
