Larger fuel filter

I picked up a fuel filter yesterday at Napa and went to install it and it was like twice the diameter of the stocker. I think I can make this fit by opening up the spring arms that clamp around the filter. This would give me like double the filtration media that the small stocker has. The filter they gave me must be for an older L or reguler F-150. Any thoughts on increasing filter life?

I did the exact same thing its for the Reg F150, I wedged mine in there. More Media, better flow.

I bought the correct one just in case I have problems in the future

You prolly received a filter made for an Expy....this same thing happened to me when I bought my last Fuel filter.

It seems the part numbers are no good when crossing them w/NAPA part numbers. Did you ever try to get an air filter for your L at NAPA?

I'll just use the larger filter. I would think bigger is better anyway.. I might have to use a zip tie but it will be fine.
