How much for a replacment set of keys???

I lost my second pair of keys. Can't find it anywhere. How much would it cost to buy a new key and remote from Ford?

Well it kinda depends. At the dealership I work at PATS key sells for $30 and the remote should run around $45. The problem is in programming the new key. The way the trucks computer is set up it take two keys to allow the new key to be programmed or the truck would need to be connected to a NGS (Ford shop tool). Once again at the dealership I work at the cost to have the NGS tool used for reprogramming is $35 or the shops minimum labor charge. I suggest you shop around, I have heard some dealers quote $50 for the key and some are at $15, the reason is that the keys are bought from an outside source and the dealers make up their own prices. I will add that if you can get up to the Delray area I'll make you a key free of charge (it may have a Lincoln emblem on it) but you'll still need to pay for the NGS (don't have any control over that ).

My very first MOD was a spare set of keys. The guy at the dealer said that this was a VERY smart move. Each key needs its own master to set it.I highly recommend getting it done.It took 3 minutes at $20 a key.Well worth it.

Thank god for keyless entry .. I just leave em in the side pocket on the door. Never bring them in the house or my pocket.

There are instructions in your owners manual on
how to program a new key ... just need the blank
and a good key ...

Reading the manual ---- What a concept!

It is true that it is in the manual. But you have to have two programmed keys to add the third!

On my previous F150, my wife lost her key, leaving us with one. It was about $30 just for the damn PATS key, PLUS another $60-70 to have the system reprogrammed.
So, before I even left the dealer with my L, I went to parts and got a third key!!!!!! With these trucks, that should be mod #1 for everyone!!!!!

At my dealership

program keys 28
---------------------
total 88

transmitters are about 45-55, you can program them yourself

The keypad isn't going to help you start the truck if/when you lose your second key.......but it is a nice feature to have.

If your truck is stolen & recovered with the KEY the insurance CO. has the right to deny your claim.

Thumbs up

I put a spare key in my shoe.
I put a rock in my other shoe so I wouldn't have a noticeable limp.
