cams

specs for Crane regrinds.

lift: Intake 278 @valve 500
Exhaust 290 @valve 522

Rocker arm ratio: 1.80

Lifts are based on zero lash and theoretical rocker arm ratios

Cam timing: Intake Opens @ .006 5.0 ABDC
closes @ 70.0 BTDC ABDC
Exhaust Opens @ 63.0 BBDC
closes @20.0 ATDC
Duration Intake 255
Exhaust 263

Loads:

Minimum rpm 2500
Maximum rpm 6000
Valve float 6500 (with original springs)

Timing @.050

Intake opens 12.0 ATDC closes 43.0 ABDC 117 duration ATDC 211
Exhaust opens 46.0 BBDC closes 7.0 BTDC 117 duration BTDC 219

This info is directly off of the Crane build sheet
PN 02106 Grind # HR-211/500-2S-17 0A (LEFT)
PN 02107 Grind # HR-211/500-2S-17 0A (RIGHT)

Mainly these cams allow a higher rpm range than the oe cams along with a much steadier HP across the rpm range.

Less torque at the bottom end, but a more sustained range of both HP and torque across the entire rpm range.

Check with Sig Erson. I believe that they are making new billet cams. They will allow you to run mor lift, w/o upsetting the valve train geometry.

Pretty sure Comp Cams makes mod motor cams. Give them a call.

I know Sal has re-grins, and may or may not have billet cams (if not he is working on them).
