Autometer Fuel guage 5709

Did anyone else get the letter from summit about the recall of the atm-5709 sending unit? Premature failure and fuel leakage here is the phone number 815-895-8141.

Now for the question when I installed my sending unit I lost my Shrader valve. So now that I have to pull it im screwed. Does anyone know if those shrader vavles are the same on all fords? If not the part number for the 2000 lightning?

Thanks

Thumbs up

A standard Ford valve will fit, it's not Lightning specific.

As for the recall, this weekend at NMRA, Autometer people were checking all the cars in the pits for this gauge, to alert people of the recall. They told me that if you send in your complete set up, they will swap it for the $200 full sweep electronic module version for free!!

My hats off to autometer for such an effort.

ally,

Received a letter from Summit regarding this very subject and had just finished installing the gauge Saturday. oh well, safety first!

Still have the schrader valve though. Being a packrat has its advantages.

$200 full sweep setup swap huh? hmmmmmm

Beefcake,

Did Autometer find/talk to you in Columbus?!

just got off the phone with Autometer customer service.

They will have their recall logistics and steps in place the end of this week/beginning of next week.

Didn't inquire about any 'extra' goodies, just want to stay safe.
