a friend of mine is thinking hard about buying a 02 HD, and needs a x plan pin #.. can anyone help out?

X plan pins are for specific people only. The ford employees must enter a specific persons data into the system and ONLY that person can purchase the vehicle, not even that persons wife, brother, etc... The pin is tied to your SS# and you must present prrof of ID and your SS card upon purchase...

So, unless you or your friend know a Ford employee willing to give up one of their 6 alotted PIN's per year, you may be SOL...

 

A couple of my smart-a$$ friends that work at Ford say they'll give your buddy one for a bribe of around $1000... hahaha, they said it, not me!

Tell him to contact FORD Investor Relations and see if thier promotion is still going on ... They were sending Pins to anyone who asked for a limited time...( Expired )

There is a post about 3 weeks ago detailing the info ... Hell it would be worth it to buy some stock then ask..

I have a pin from that method - Saving it for 2003 ....

well Ford stock is sitting around $16/share...

 

I thought the X plan was available to stock holders... may be worth checking it out or maybe someone can comment on the validity...

Or you can go to work for one of their primary suppliers. They get PINs as well.

I work for BorgWarner. They are building a big fancy-schmancy R&D center in Auburn Hills, Michigan, and are integrating R&D operations from 3 different divisions into this place. Few of the current R&D staff seem happy about the prospect of moving their family to the Detroit area just to keep a lousy job, so let's just say there will be some openings in their organization at the new facility.

You don't have to be a stock holder to get the x-plan from Investor Relations. Just request an info packet and there'll be a form in there to get the x-plan, if they are still doing it. That's how I got mine that I'm saving until 2003 as well.

 

Employees of fleet customers also get pin #s. The company I work for was bought by Royal Ahold and I just received a pin# about 1 year too late.
