I may trade for a Cobra
I am seriously considering trading my 2001 Black Lightning on a new 2003 Cobra when they hit the showroom floors. What would be a decent trade allowance for the Lightning? It is a Black 2001, spotless, showroom condition, no mods, and 4800 miles. Two oil changes is all I have done to it. I really don't want to sell it outright because of the hassles. I would trade it in if I could get a decent price. What do you think I will get for it? Thanks.
How many thousands of dollars are
you willing to lose by trading? You will only be given wholesale(at best), not retail when trading truck. If you got an xplan from Ford recently, the trade in value could even be worse--if they'd sell a 03 Cobra at xplan. Your truck should sell very fast for you as you described it. IMO, the only barely decent way to come out is full retail value trade in on your truck against full retail of Cobra. Then sales tax would only be on the difference, not full purchase price. You probably couldn't trade for 10k difference, but sales tax only on this amount instead of 35k (10k at 5%= $500 tax vs 35K at 5%=$1750)
03 Cobra will and does perform, how does a 12.43@113 at Englishtown sound!
I read over on the Mustang boards that they spoke with Evan and saw him run that time with a bone stock 03 and on street tires to boot just the other day!
