Hey, just got my JL intake. no instructions. Anything I should know? Just unscrew old one & put this one on? How does the rubber housing go on? the one that goes into the fender?thanx.
Also, do I remove the Pos. or Neg. battery cable. always heard it was the pos.

no need to remove either, just unbolt the old air box and pull it out, then put the whole assembly together, (easier this way) and insert the metal end into the fender well, and slide the other end of the filter and connector together with the MAF boot. Then bolt it all down and reconnect the air temp sensor......easy as cake

I bought the JL powerstack filter & rubber inlet boot that goes into the well. Does anyone have pics? Why unplu the mass air. The kit did not come with a new mass air plug. looks like it bolt on to the end of the rubber tube right after the plug. also, what is holding the stock box on other than the bolts to the mass air? can I just pull the stock fender tube out? Thanx again

unplugged the mass air and uscrewed the metal clamp that holds the mass air part of the tube & pulled the the tube loose. there is something holding the stock airbox on from underneath. anyone know what this is? the tube is free, so what do I loosen now? dont want to just yank.

The stock unit Rubber Bullets on the support ... They
suggest you unplug the wiring so you don't rip it off.
Then just PULL it up and out.

I had a tough time with the first sensor on the backside,
but a little screwdriver helped it loose.

Good luck!!!

ok, last question.....i hope.... The hole in the JL unit for the mass air sensor (the little grey plug) seems too small. I dont want to force the sensor in there. is it supposed to be this tight? I believe I would need to lube it just to get it in there. also which way is it supposed to face? Thanx again

Whew, ok got the little grey mass air plug in the JL provided rubber coated hole, now just need to know which way to face it. Should the little coated wire face so that it takes the full on blast of air, or face it sideways so the U shaped platic cover faces the air & would be somewhat protecting the little black dangler. Wow, this install was WAY easier on my svt contour & my cobra. DOH!

loop should be vertical so the sensor gets the full blast of air.

Here are instructions...I haven't posted a link on the site yet. Dual and single are pretty close to install, except for the flex tube and box and they are straight forward.
