Trans Cooler

Who here has used a different trans cooler than the stock one? What kind did you get, and why? How hard was it to install?

Cool

HI!... I replaced the small factory tranny cooler with a 14"X10" PERMA-COOL aluminum tranny cooler. I also installed a SUMMIT RACING 10" electric fan on it. I relocated in front of the rad on the driver's side. Works VERY well and my tranny temp dropped 40 degree's. Here's a pics before install on truck and before electric fan.

We replaced ours on the Black Beast a long time ago with the biggest and baddest cooler B&M makes that could be used. We also relocated it to be right infront of the radiator and also hard lined it.

Since then, we have never had to problem with tramission heat, only blowing up clutch packs...

On the topic of transmission mods, we also have installed the deep 4x4 pan and PSP/FT shift kit.
