Here's the deal. I've been in love with the L since I got my 00 HD. I finally have the approval (begrudgingly) of the spousal unit to get one if I want. I could probably find one here in AZ for X-plan but probably won't get that much for my truck. Or I'm thinking I could wait until I go overseas (Italy or Germany)next year because I should be able to get a better deal for my truck. Which is also a concern because of servicing the L. I bought my truck through Ford Credit at 4.9% which I don't know is available or not. And my wife also said if I keep this truck I could get a supercharger (Magnacharger), I just really want to be able to smoke my friend's Camaro if possible. So, should I get the Magnacharger and wait until returning from overseas (will the L still be around then, in 4 years), or should I jump on it now and risk service problems overseas? Thanks.

 

get the Lightning because everything else sucks. the overseas service depts probably have as much expertise as the yanks do, when it comes to Lightnings

 

Putting a magnacharger on your hd probably won't get you the same performance as an L. The new 02 HD's w/blower are 15 sec trucks.

If you plan on doing a lot of driving in Europe, your gas bill with an L is going to be extremely expensive.

I would buy something over there to drive then wait until you're back in the states to get an L, if you even still want one at that point.

 

All I know is if you want to supercharge your existing truck don't waste your time and money with a mangnacharger. Go straight to Procharger who has a kit for the 5.4. They put one on a Hog Truck and got 355 rwhp I believe.

 

Buy one now and when you have had it enough time sell it. You may get more than you paid.

 

Thanks for the replies. But, what about the resell value of a 00 HD overseas? It only has 14k miles now. And I prefer the Magna over the Pro because I heard it has better off the line power, which I prefer. Also, is there a good service network overseas, more than likely Italy, for SVTs?
