HELP! Lightning hit rev limiter in 1st!!!

Went to the track for the first time with the 4# pulley, more on that in another thread...

I hit the rev limiter in 1st gear and it bounced off about 4 times before shifting into 2nd, but didn't do it on the 2-3 shift. Needless to say i didn't race the rest of the night because something is wrong.

Has anyone ever experienced this or know what it is or how to fix it????

You didn't have a Diablo chip did you?

Just curious cause that happened to me once with one.

Needless to say I was pissed!

Your chip runs thru a calculation loop constently. It is possible if the motor is increasing speed too fast for the motor to pass the shift point and by the time the computer gets around to checking if it is time to shift, the rev limiter has been already activated. Have your tuner lower the shift point or raise the rev limit to seperate them. If you raise the rev limit then always let the motor do the shifting.

Andy,

Are you selling your autocross car for something else?

G
BTW, I test drove a mini-cooper S last week. It's just a little bigger but has four seats!

we are going to run a f125 shifter cart

Lookup crg storm in google. We are a little tired of chasing a ever changing target.

I'm using the JDM single chip, J68 program. I always let the truck shift itself, i don't manually shift. So it sounds like maybe the shift point is too close to the rev limiter? I would assume the tuners (JDM in my case) would know this and would factor that in??? Seems weird that it has never happened before.
