Rubbing with 20's?

I am planning on buying some 20x9.5 Boyd Coddington’s and 295/40/20 tires for my L. Will they rub the mental tubing on the JL Ram Air that I have on my L? That would kind of suck if it does.

Thanks,
Wheeler

Here is a link for a tire and wheel size calculator. I think you will see the 20 with a 40 series is a slightly taller setup and the 22 with a 35 series is a slightly shorter setup than the stock tire and wheel http://www.c5-corvette.com/tirecalc.htm.
I hav'nt seen anyone coment on problems with either setup, even those with lowering kits. The "B" column has the bigger rim sizes available in the drop down box.

Thumbs up

I got 20x10 boyd coddington rims on my truck check sig for pics. Mounted on Dunlope Sport SP9000 295/40/20's. I had the PSP Fast Air on my truck not back on yet but should be plenty of room for it, but im not to sure about the JL because i know that it is metal tubing. But im guessing you should be ok.

I have the 20x9.5" Chrome Replicas with the Goodyear 295/40/20 & YES, it DEFINITELY rubs the JL Ram Air.

I use it as a braking upgrade when I'm turning right....LOL.

The kicker is that it rubs EXACTLY on the weld. Oh well, it just rubbed the paint of and I've been monitoring it, no tire damage and no major (paint) tube damage. I may just take it off & WHACK it with a rubber mallet.

ps.....it rubbed with my 20x9" NONE chrome replicas too, even though they were 1/2" narrower.

FRP 1/2 Lowering kit.

Thanks,

mine and iculokn rims and tires i think are smaller than the 295/40/20. ours are the same overall height as stock, just a REALLY small tire! i dont know the overall size, but if poweredbySVT said that he rubs with his 20's, than the 295/30/22 is probly smaller.
