I was reading this article(it's a bit old) and they said that there is 8rwhp to be found by cutting out the fenderwell where the rubber boot goes....anyone tried this?

This would work for the 99-00. 01-02 already have this mod.

 

i went and pulled the box, the cut out is not nearly the same size as the boot. I do have an 01 too.

 

Qball, the fender hole thing is kind of bogus. They did enlarge the hole on the 01s, BUT there is a second fender stamping right behind it that was not enlarged. Also, I've seen lots of 01s, and it looks like someone at the plant with a hacksaw enlarged most of those holes, some of them are nasty looking .
