Can i get in the 12's????
I have not run at the track yet with my new chip/pulley. Any ideas on if i can get into the 12's (assuming i drive fairly well)?? I'm in Arizona and supposedly the tracks suck here. I'm running the J68 chip with 91 octane but i'm using Torco to push it up to 94 Octane or so. I have 8,000 miles and am running F1's. I've removed my spare, jack, and tow hitch. What else should i do to get into the 12's? Tire pressure really matter on F1's? Anything else?
I guess I'll have to give you the same advice I gave this guy:

Weedo,
I would be interested in how you do, keep us posted! I live in AZ also (Ahwatukee) and lately with the increased heat I have noticed a drop in performance. My only mods are a Magnaflow Muffler, and K&N filter...no airbox mod). Based on my G-Tech i'm running in the low to mid 14's with the current weather.
If you want to meet, I can bring my G-Tech and you could get some preliminary numbers.

Sounds like Raoul has a 14 second Lightning! :o
Seriously though, i believe "stock" Lightnings are around upper 13's here so i'm just not sure i took a full second off, but if others are running it here, i'm hoping i will too. What psi do you run the F1's, does it really matter?

Weedo,
You're killin' me man...I ran a 12.954@106.573 with a 1.962 60' in 40-degree weather! I ran my F1's reversed with 25 psi in them and still spun like a fiend off the line. The one benefit the heat is going to give you is that the track will be warmer and you should hook better...but it'll kill the motor too. I think it'll be a push and you'll see some low to mid-13's but that's about it. Good racing here in Phoenix doesn't start until about November when our brothers back east are blowing snow off their driveways!

I think you'll be lucky to break a 13.84 at about 99 mph! Don't forget to bring the helmet for your better half and make sure she runs with you since your best run was with her. Better yet...let her drive as she couldn't run any worse than you!
