Very cool....

I was born about 15yrs to late to have really experienced most of those cars.

Interesting read. I would really like to know what 1/4 mile times a 68 383 Roadrunner ran stock, it wasn,t in the list. I owned on new in 68 and thought it was fast. Nothing like the L but fast nonetheless.

Does anybody know?

Tim

Hey Jerrod.....

You can see cars like these and more every Friday night, unless it rains, in League City Park. Some are really radical

Being a 45 year old L owner, I can still remember when they were on the dealer lots. I've driven a few of them and owned a few Mach's. I too think they should have included the L, would have been neat. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Talking

What do you think the deal was with 2-LS1's. the same drivers are getting 11's out of the viper, and 14.2 and 14.4 from the SS and Firehawk

By the looks of the 'new' cars, I think the test must have been done sometime around 1997. There's not a newer vehicle than that in there.

I went to the PM site and saw that it's listed in their 'Article Archive', which also makes me think it's a few years old.

That would explain why there's no L in there- at least not a Gen II anyway.

I just noticed this, the URL contains '1997/8' in it as well.

Cool Roadrunner ET

Yo Tim, the '68 Roadchicken would run mid 14's bone stock @ around 95 MPH. They were aerodynamicly challenged but were still a cool muscle car with a good sounding exhaust note. When modded they would do very well at the strip, later, John H.

There is nothing like new technology. My lightning tramples my Charger and the Dodge's 440 is built and dynoed at 500hp!..

SVTDAVE is right on the money. New stuff is much better in just about all aspects, except character. New stuff doesn't hold a candle to old stuff. Look at a 65-67 Corvette and a 2000-02 vette. No comparison the curves of a 65-67 are so much nicer than the new stuff. The sounds that the old cars pump out are awesome as well
