how should i take off in a race?
**note: im new to lightnings & this forum**
some backround: i plan on getting a lightningin 3 years, (college student =( , no $) cuz its the perfect ride for me. i love driving suvs cuz of their higher ride height, ( had an '01 tahoe ) but ive always wanted a sports car, so the lightning is like a perfect mix of the two.
now the real question:
i used to have an '01 v6 f150, and it would peel out if i floored it off the line... so i was wondering, how do the lightnings take off? do you have to take off slowly, not just gunning it off the line? im sure you can give it more go if you have slick sticky tires, but im talking about the stock lightning tires on the gen II's.
thanks guys

Well, at the track you could just practice different techniques to see what works best but, I guess your talking about street racing at a traffic light.
I have had many different high performance cars pull up beside me at a light and I have never been beaten.
The first thing that gets my attention is a loud exhaust roar and the car besides me is sometimes rocking a little or jerking forward a couple of inches.
Step 1) Make eye contact with the driver and hold it, make him look away first.
Step 2) Calmly reach into pocket and display black leather flip-open container with large, shiny, fake, law enforcement badge inside. (Hold close to window for effect)
Step 3) Light turns green, proceed at whatever rpm launch you choose. (The faster my opponent looks the slower I launch) I guarantee a one half vehicle length victory for as far as you want to race.

ROTFLMAO!!
Seriously, though, my stock trucks hooks up pretty good, but I keep the tires at slightly under recommended PSI, as well as putting the edal down gradually, as opposed to jamming it down.
