Heard this works wonders getting out swirl marks and causing water runoff on the paint as well as shining up the tires and keeping dust from building up on the dash. Guy with a fully restored GT 350 swears by it. Anybody else hear it?

Someone on this board mentioned using it on his dash, although I can't remember who. He said it actually repels dust and his dash stays cleaner longer! The only concern I have is I don't think it offers ultraviolet protection.

 

I don't know about ultraviolet protection, but I have been using pledge to clean the interior on all my cars. Unlike armorall it doesn't attract dust, and doesn't give you a blinding glare on your windshield from the dash. Plus smells good. As for the tires or paint I've never tried. Sound interesting though.

 

I tried it on the paint of my black '93 Cobra, and I really didn't like it. It is very oily, and if you get water on it, it will rainbow. Stick with 3M imperial hand glaze for the swirls. As for the interior, I just use a wet rag and wipe down the interior components. I haven't found anything I like for the interior. Plus, I am worried about putting something on there that will prematurely dry out the dash, or make it fade. I use cavicide (a disinfecant we use to clean our ambulance) to clean my carpets - it just so happens to leave that "new car" smell.

 

I use Pledge on my Dash , I haven't had any problems and have used it for years, but on the paint I will only use Zaino

 

I used to sell this stuff as a manufacturer's rep. Vinylex from makers of Lexol is always used on vinyl interior parts and fabric top of Roll 'N Lock. Good protection & look! Static electricity causes dust buildup. You create more when normally wiping off dash. I put a little STATICIDE ON LINTFREE CLOTH-NOT PAPERTOWELLS WHICH CREATE STATIC ELECTRICITY. AMONG OTHER THINGS THEY MAKE AN ANTI-STATIC FOAM GLASS CLEANER. works great at repelling dust & pollen on outside windows, TV,Crt screens. kept some samples for my own use.

 

A little shot of Pledge in the rear wheel wells before going to the track makes the rubber hose right off.

 

I use a Lamb's Wool Duster to dust of the dash and interior about once/per week.

Works great, armoral maybe once a month if that.

 

I knew a guy years ago that restored model "t"s. He always used lemon Pledge on all his cars(they are all black, btw) The secret is NOT to spray it directly on the paint, but to spray it on the cloth THEN wipe down the car.I know he also used it in the interior as well.Its a good fast detail trick. Doesn't last worth a *****, though!
