Question gaylor vs. snuglid

Anybody have any experience with the ******* lids? I am tossing between the snuglid or the *******. Any thoughts?

Just installed the *******'s X2000 on my HD. Very nice product. Finish is beautiful, fit is good, but the directions were garbage!!! Once we figured it out it went ok. A little bit pricey....but it looks sweet

Loosebolt,I shopped around pretty thoroughly and settled on a Fibernetics Hard Cover.Very impressed with the finish /fit.Also I was looking for an alternative to a completely flat lid.Don't care much for the ARE,and I felt the Innovations Pro Sport was a little too much for my taste[Fairly large wing incorporated in]The Fibernetics Lid has a small 1 1/2" spoiler built into the rear of it.If your interested let me know and i'll post a pic or two.
hope this helps,-Dave.

I have a *******'s Traditional. Fit's great, and is real heavy duty.

You can even stand on it and not damage anything. How do I know? Someone used it to stand on while they were breaking into my truck throught the back window.

Just polished out the footprints

I got a snuglid in June 2000. Construction is great..Got Stainless hardware...Ordered the 'underliner' in "Bedrug' grey. All top quality.

But the color (silver) is way off Ford's Silver. Both the dealer and my call to the Snuglid factory said I had the right product. Yet it is the wrong color.

Oh well.

Speedfreak,

Where did you get that cover? Was that a leftover at a dealership that was never picked up by the origninal HD owner? It looks great on your L!

Thanks,

I actually found it a Leer dealer in Houston. It was left over from some HD owner who either sold his truck before it came in, forgot about it or gave up waiting for Ford to come through. I'll explain below.

SLVRLTNG
Kinda long story, (heres the short version) I heard that initialy Ford tried to build the bed cover for the first year HD truck themselves without much success so they contracted Leer to finish what they started. Needless to say, people were already taking receipt of their trucks without the bed covers that they had already paid for. Some were given money back, and some opted to wait.

I got luckey and was able to pick one up that was left over. The only bad thing is they only came in black so I had to fork over another $250 to spray it.

FYI they have two more left if anyone is interested.

I am all for ********, they make an excellent product. They have been around for the longest out of all these other companies. The X2000 is an awesome tonneau cover. You can take it off with just a simple unscrew of the hatch, and it weighs hardly nothing. So if you don't mind paying a little more ******** is the way to go.
