Dyno Results

How do these numbers look for the mods listed below. The numbers are SAE:

Run 1: 388 RWHP & 480 Torque
Run 2: 381 RWHP & 471 Torque
Run 3: 381 RWHP & 468 Torque

They had and A/F meter and at WOT I was around 13. The tech said I was a little rich but the curves looked good.

I will post pics once I can figure out the dynojet viewer.

Exclamation air fuel

your air fuel is not rich at all. most tuners like to have it at about 11.5-12.5. did you hear any detonation? I dyno'd my truck the other day and got 375 and 445 with just a chip but my air/fuel was 13.2. i am going to richen it up some. I would rather run rich than run lean and blow an engine. just some advice.

lol, i'm right behind ya sooner, lol

if your a/f is 13 with a 4lb lower pulley, you are running way too lean,

sal should have your chip set to try to achieve around a 11.44 to 11.55 for a safe tune

13.0 and you will be blown (blown pistons) sooner than you'd like

one thing you should do is have a bung welded into the truck to get an accurate a/f vs a tailpipe sensor, the cats can throw the tailpipe sensor off

The dyno numbers sound right for the mods you have. The A/F does not sound right though, our 01 programs are usually in the low 11s, richer than it needs to be, but some added safety. If you are getting 13 for an A/F ratio then either 1- something is not right on the truck, and it's throwing the A/F off, or 2- thier sensor is not accurate, which is possbile, because dyno a/f sensors go bad very often.

Well maybe I can clear this up real quick. I was going off memory when I first made the post but now I have figured out how to use the Dynojet software and I was originaly wrong. The A/F ratios are around 12.5 and lower above 4500 RPM's for runs 1 and 3 and 13 for run 2.

I hate to admit this but I have no clue on how to read A/F ratios so if anyone could give me a crash cource I would like that.

Here are the graphs finally.

If something looks wrong let me know. During the run I did not hear any detenotation but I do not have the best hearing.

The power graphs look great. The a/f graph looks like the sensor is going bad on thier dyno. A normal graph will start at like 18:1 on the initial sample start, then drop to normal after about 200 rpms, but your graph tapers down slow. That ususally means the dyno sensor is on it's way out. After a while they start to read really slow, especially if they've had a lot of leaded race fuel through them.

You might have hit the nail on the head with the racing gas. This is a mom and pop shop that runs race cars and they mainly use the dyno for them.

I am happy with the power since my stock dyno runs were around 329 RWHP so I have gained around 55 HP with the chip filter and 4lb pulley assuming my first runs were correct.

Sal if you think everything looks good them I am happy because you are the man. On a side note I am thinking about going with a set of denso plugs so which ones should I get with my mods. Last do you have the Fast Air System in stock, if so pull one aside I am going to order one and the plugs in the next day or two.
