if you are going to do something big i would suggest APEX motorsports in santa clara. maybe a little far but they would probably do the best work. but if your doing something small like mufflers or something i dont really know of any shops. the place i went was exhaust works on old county road in san mateo but i had some problems with them so i wouldnt suggest going there.

Exhaust Works in Belmont. They put on dual single dynomax race maggnums w/a X pipe. He has also done work for another L on this board. Installed headers & magnaflow.

It's true Apex is a good shop, but only if they'll bother with you. I called and called and called and left several messages with them over a one month period last summer. I never got a call back. I gave them one last try and someone answered the phone. They didn't have time for a month or so to do any of the suspension and brake work I was interested in doing (not a small job). I asked if they got my prior calls and the answer was "yes" but they didn't think it was worth calling back to let me know they didn't have time to do the work I wanted done.

That's my experience with Apex.

On the other hand, I have only great things to say about Westcoast Muffler in Concord. They will work on brakes, mufflers, suspensions (including Ruslow's stuff) and the low prices always shock me. Also, they know Lightnings. If you call, talk to Steve or Randy and tell them I referred you.

If you want quality work, go to APEX. They have done ALL of the work on my Lightning and they have done an excellent job. They are very busy, however, it is worth the wait. They also have a tuner (Byron Reynolds) who can custom tune the autologic chips from PSP.

Just curious to know where exhaust works is... I don't remember the street names though-- just buildings... (taco bell and longs in particular for some reason...)

I lived in belmont for 5 years and I thought I would never hear about it anywhere since it is so small....

Right by a napa auto store on Old County Road. I think it was the 400 block. Alot of mustang owners take their cars to him. Nice guy. Not expensive either.

be careful if you go there. they did a ****ty job on my truck. the mufflers kept hitting the bottom of the truck and and took like 5 times of going back to have them fix it right. but, the owner was really nice and at the end of everything he gave me a $50 gift certificate. i will probably go back because its so convinient(sp?) and pretty cheap to. but just wanted to share my experience with them.
