flip chip >hassle?
I was reading another post pertaining to flip chips, and untill i read the post ,was not aware that it was such a hassle to flip the switch or program?=you must disconnect the battery or restart it 3 times or something? is this true with all flip chips?
Lets say you had a chip made for street and the other side stock or something that would get you home on a bad tank of gas, would i have to go to all the hassle of disconnecting the battery or restarting 3 times or doing one legged back flips
? to change between programs?
Would i not be better off to get just a single program for a street program and if i run into bad gas, just pull the chip out ,untill
the gas was used up?wow these L's are quite the job to get the extra horse and torque out of on a regular daily driven basis>.

i never heard of restarting 3 times. it's made more for one side for daily driving, and if your going racing you just disconnect the battery to clear out old codes, hook it back up, start it up.
I can be going down the road, go to neutral, cut the truck off, flip my switch and be ready to play...
You only need to disconnect the power if you want to reset the fuel tables. I saw no gain in time doing that....

I just thought about it, and remembered it will probably mess up my tranny also, as I'd have to put it into park while going down the road.
Hmmmmmm.......... Black skid marks and no steering.
Damn those flip chips anyways. LOL----------

It would take longer to take the chip out then to flip the switch.
With the JDM chip you only have to take the key out flip the switch put the key back in and go.
It takes roughly 5 seconds.
The three starts and shut offs is for if you are at a dyno and want to flip or at the track. It is just more insurance that the tables are read for optimum results.
I have dynoed the flip from J49 to J69 programs with the 3 start and stops. Then dynoed with 500 miles on the same flip with no difference in numbers.
Really not that complicated.
