hey ya all i thought i would hi jack an old thread of the gas cap instead of making a new one first. I used to own a sporttrac and i had one on there and i took it off when i totalled it. now i want to put it on the f150 but instead the part number is XU5Z-9030-HA instead of XU5Z-9030-FA I looked at the expedition adn it just has a AA at the end everything is the same again
will my gas cap work. Are those last two letters just so it looks like a diffrent part or for catorgizing for ford or something. My guess is it is the same anyone know for sure. I dont want to have my gas cap light come on.

Locking Gas Cap

I just did a search of the part number XU5Z-9030-FA from the Ford Parts website. It said it was superceded by another number that the search engine could not find.............

Yeah i dont know that is what i am getting now also. Dont get it. But my thoughts are if i put it on and it fits. it means it is good and wont leak and it will seat firmly and properly. What do you all think.

the last two numbers/letters are the producion code they change about every 6 months or so AA, FA, MA, FE, doesn't matter as long as the rest of the mumbers match. Often that is what is meant by a supersceeded PN.
