Question Filter Question

This may not be specific to the L, but here goes, I have a collegue I work with, who claims that his K&N filter caused his engine to stall. He claims the oil from the filter, causes and idle sensor to stop working and vows to protest the company now. I personally do not believe this, just looking for some true technical input on the situation. Thanks.

moto,
I personally have never had a problem with the K&N's, but I have heard that it can cause problems with the MAF sensor from the oil. It is usually a simple fix by cleaning out the MAF sensor. Not real technical, but I have heard of it happening.

Hope that helps a little.

Brad

If the filter is over oiled it can foul the MAF sensor and cause some problems. Has happened.

It should not happen from a newly installed, new filter. It may very well happen if he recently reoiled a used filter. So what! He's going to "protest the company" ........ I'm sorry, but this is not a BFD--clean off the sensor! That's what he gets for making so much power..........................
