L test drive story

Friday my buddy went to checkout a new L. Wanted to trade in his dually for a new black L. Finds a local dealer with a black 02 on the lot. Shows up, he and the salesman hop in for a test drive. Truck has 7 miles showing. Pulling into traffic it throws a rod. They made it about 200 feet out of the dealer lot. He ended up buying a used white 01 with low miles.

Talking

Who put a JDMPSPJLSUPERCHIPSSEANHYLAND chip in that new L. After all it is the tuner and chips fault.

Relax everyone; just having some fun.

How far did it throw it ?

Did anybody see or clock the rod ?

Which number rod was it ?

I'll see if I can think of other important questions to ask, and I'll post them as I think of them.

If we wanted a reliable vehicle we would have bought a Toyota, right? Ha ha, kidding of course (well, kind of...).
That's too bad, but also nice to hear that it happened on a stock vehicle so when i blow mine up i can tell the wifey that even stock L's blow!

That guy who was driving wouldn't have to pay for that would he, since it's not really his fault? I am planning on going to test drive some Lightnings at different dealerships on the 26th, my 18th b-day, i just dont feel like paying for something like that before i even get one!

actually,, i'm not so sure how all dealerships work, but i know a lot of them have each salesman has his own "insurance" with some sort of deductable, that means that if car or truck breaks or gets in an accident on a test drive, or they miss some bad damage done to a lease turn in,, its then their *** to pay the deductable, not the guy driving it. Thats just what i've heard though, could be a scarey story to keep something in everyone's mind when they go out to test one.

They didn't try and charge him for it. They did ask if he would like to buy it after they put in a new motor. He declined and bought the white one.
