500hp/500tq secret formula

MMFF has an article on the gt40 motor. Navigator block, cobra R heads, and our very own L supercharger=500/500. What an example of parts bin genius!! GIVE ME THAT ENGINE! (or I will build it myself..)

We'll all be seeing one of these real soon.....or at least some version of it........I can feel it.......There's too much engine-building knowledge on here from the tuners, and TONS of others on these boards!! I would be SHOCKED if nobody has built one yet by the end of the summer!

BTW-on another board i read that the hyland motor was only about 420-430 at the wheels(from the ONE guy who has one). Also had a hard time cooling it! Less coolant flow thru the heads, for 16k i am not biting. Sounds like some major kinks to me....

Haven't heard anything about the Hyland motor meself, just saw it browsing his site. Have seen several of his 4.6 4 valves run real fast yet break real often.

As for the 5.4L, lots of people selling the Navigator motor, but no one I can find with any of the "R" parts. Couple friends have been trying to get the R's intake forever...

that motor is a total waste of time! look at the tuners trucks, there pushing way more then 420 to 430 HP. Also, that figure for that GT40 is probably a flywheel rating like most vehicles are guys, thats why its more likely to be around the 420 to 430 like the SHM motor.

I'd rather have a motor like Sal's then that 16,000 dollar crap that SHM sells. There rip off artist!

The GT40 is using a rear entry version of our blower. Not the same. The Cobra-r heads are different from the Navigator heads on the Hyland motor.

Two very different kinds of power. Our 5.4 can make huge power for short periods of time. The multivalve motors are making power sustainable for long periods of time. Drag race vs Road race.

The Cobra R were dynoing anywhere from 370-380 RWHP, so I don't doubt they'd be awesome with a Blower. MORE than the 420-430 some of the Lightning guys are getting.

Just my opinion!

How do you really feel Joe?

More power to the people who pursue it but I'm hoping there will be enough developed to make me hapy with our basic motor. I was thinking 4V at one time and scrapped the idea once I heard of some of the difficulties people were encountering.

I've got all my short block pieces except a billet crank. From the way it sounds there will be alot of new stuff like cams, intercooler, intake and hopefully heads over the next 6-12 months.

Lets keep our fingers crossed.
