Question Battery cut-off switch

Okay, I'm trying to hook up my battery cut-off switch today. I have painless wiring kit #50105(high amp alternator shutdown relay along with Moroso #74102 (battery disconnect switch) Moroso cables #74055, Taylor battery box #48100.
The Painless wiring kit comes with 8 gauge wire. The wire on our alternator is larger maybe 6 gauge. Should I go out and buy larger wire or am I okay with the 8 gauge?

If I were in your shoes...I'd go with the larger wire. Thinner wire runs hotter due to higher resistance. Less power gets thru.

I would get larger wire, you have to remember that the L has a larger alternator from the factory then most other cars that your kit was most likey made for. And if your going to do that, you might aswell run a 4 gauge just to be safe you know. I ran all 0 gauge from my batteries in the back to the front of the truck!

I have 2 gauge right now for the main battery. Should I use 1 or 0 gauge? I don't have a huge stereo system and don't plan on installing one. The original battery cable looks like a 3 gauge.

I ran the o gauge just the engine. I also have one four gauge wire four each amp coming from that switch too.

It couldn't hurt, but I think your ok with that 2 gauge.
