Yet another x-plan question

Maybe somebody can help me out here. I work for a Ford supplier, so I have no problem getting a x-plan PIN. In fact I bought my Lightning an x-plan. My question is that I have a good friend that would like to buy a Ford product. Can she use one of my PIN #'s? Just curious, in your experience do dealers check into where the PIN came from?

Thanks!

From what I have heard, some do and some don't care. Up until 4/1/02, you could get one directly from Ford, but I think that program ended.

I got mine from being a member of EAA, and I just gave it to the dealer at Gwinnett Place Ford, and they didn't ask me anything about it.

I work for a company that is owned by Tyco Int., which gets me the X-Plan. When I went with my wife to trade her Explorer in on an Expedition using the X-Plan. The dealer told me that he had to put my name on the title to use my pin number. The dealer I went to required proof on where I worked before he would honor my pin number. I guess if she is someone you can trust, you can put both names on the title in order to buy the vehicle and fix the title later.

good luck,
