besides all the rust, it looks just like mine and I don't hit the bump stops that much.

Try moving it down another hole if you want to...

Could you go down one more hole on that shackle? If not then maybe try the stock rear shackle to see how your truck sits. Just some ideas... You do not have much suspension travel at all...

I didn't like the way mine looked with the drop shackles and put the stock shackles back on. Mine has not bottomed out one time.

I run mine in the 2nd hole from the top, and I also tend to hit the stops. There is only about 1 and3/4 inch from the axle to the bump stop. Some also say the rear looks low on this setup, but if you're on level ground and put a 3 foot level on the top of the bed rail mine shows you probably would have to run on the top hole to be level. I bought a slick frame notch kit from western chasis for $89 that will give you an extra 2 and 1/2 inches of clearance. The plates are probably 10 times stronger than the existing frame. I am having a frame shop install them forthwith.

hey,,, none of you L owners will complain about rust under the truck its tough on us here in detroit area,, we live on top of a salt mine,, there is salt when there isn't even snow,, i remember when there was just no snow almost alll winter yet the streats would just blow salt all over the place, poor L's that aren't garage kept up here are pretty tough to keep in good shape under the truck,, you try and wash and it just freazes, you take it to spray wash and you can't get under the truck to spray off salt,, i think detroit is like the only place even remotely saltier then salt lake city

I had mine installed and they didn't even use the shackles cause they said it would be too low. The hangers were changed. If you want pics of a white 2001 like that, e-mail me piekappphi@aol.com

do you have to have the shorter endlink with the drop kit?

That's what mine look like too. I tried to get it into the next set of lwer holes but no go. I found out on another thread that maybe the font bump stops are touching the a-arm. When I went outside it was touching. So today I am going to trim some of it off and see if it drops the front some more.

My rear does seem to sit lower as well, but the bed is level. I used a leveler as well.

I am going to go with a C-Notch so i get more travel.

I would put the stock shackle back in, or at least move to the next lower set of holes on the ones you have on. Take measurements before and after and correct the end-link length accordingly. This is where the adjustable kind really shine. This should take care of the bump-stop problem.

If for some reason it doesn't, or you don't want to lift the back of the truck with a diffrent shackle, then there are still things you can do. E-mail me and I'll send you some info on a possible fix I used on a friends Lightning who had a similar problem. I'd try the shackles though first.

Later,
