I'm buying the car from a dealer near Ponitac. He has it on consignment from a collector. This collector also has two show condition Shelby Mustangs for sale. The cheap one is a '68 GT 500 for mear $55,500.

Cool car!

Does anyone know what the 1/8 mile times were when the 68 383 Roadrunner was new in 1968?

The reason I ask is I had a new 68 Roadrunner in 68. It was my first new car and I raced it at Shuffletown Dragstrip in Charlotte, NC. It's been so long ago now that I don't remember what times I ran. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the Lightning.

Anybody know how fast they are stock/new??

Tim

rfat16, That is IDENTICAL !! to the one my older brother purchased brand new in 1969. That was a fun car to drive (when ever he let me drive it). In 1971 i purchased a Dodge challenger with the 383, it was a blast to.

I believe stock roadrunners with 383's where in the 15 second range in the quarter. My car's engine was dynoed at 500hp
( engine on a stand, NOT rear wheel hp) and my Lightning will whip its butt anytime. To me, not much can catch a lightning.
