Sal has shipped my kooks lt's and mid pipes.

The install in mm&ff actually seemed pretty straight forward.

Is there anything to really look out for?

What gains did you guys who installed see in the 1/4 mile or dyno?

Right now I still have completely stock exhaust except for the weld in magnapacks.

I don't have the Kooks; I have had the ones that JL sells for almost a year. As far as performance; the dyno info I have would be an apples to oranges comparison. I think you can expect some of your biggest gains at lower rpm levels believe it or not. I know I saw the greatest hp and tq at around 3300 rpm.

As far as installation make sure you have a new set of exhaust manifold gaskets, extensions for the O2 sensors and a stubby wrench came in handy for a few of the locactions.

You may want to consider having a bung welded into the side of you collector on the drivers side. The bung will allow your dyno to insert an A/F probe at a location that is far better than sticking a probe up the exhaust pipe.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I dropped 1 tenth and gained half of a MPH. Not quite what I thought I would gain.

LongTubes

I have the same stepheaders as Rusty and dynoed them with Bassani catback and my stock catback system and there was no gain to be found in power and at the track i have been there twice with them on and have yet to run as fast as last fall with these longtubes on in good air!The good side is they sound awesome with the bassani catback and look really nice on the truck.Just dont get caught up in these claims of big results at the track or you will be greatly dissapointed when you get there yourself.

Thumbs up

Beefcake,

I have the LPP/JLP longtubes with high flow cats and Bassani catback exhaust. When I added them along with moving from a 4# lower to a 5# lower I went from a 12.22 to a 11.79 On the 11.79 the air was actually warmer than the 12.22 run but I didn't record the bp. It is strange how on my truck it made such a dramtic difference and on others they make little if any difference I will be curious to see how your L reacts to them!! Hopefully you will see the results that I did!!

totaled,

yours was the post i remeber seeing about the big gain difference,

obviously with more mods, a truck is going to respond better

i figure since i am pushing the 6lb lower i should see results,

i am curious if the guys that added the lt's have had chip reburns and checked a/f ratios also.

sal mentioned that a lot of trucks fatten up with the lt's and some go lean, if a truck is fattening up, your going to lose power.

i plan on dynoing mine just to be sure where i am at

I didn't measure the A/F when I first put mine on so I can't help you there. I find it interesting that some could get richer and some go lean. I just assumed it would lean them out a little if anything.

Have that extra O2 sensor bung welded in your drivers side collector and you'll know for sure what you are doing when you measure A/F.

Good Luck with the install.

I'm getting mine installed this weekend with new cats and bassani cat back.

I'm running 5.5 pounds of boost and a 50 shot so I should hope to see a big gain. along with many many other mods this trucks going to go well into the 11's with no problem
