exhaust question

exhaust question

i have two 40 series flows on a 01 L, now here is the question. when it is cold out it sounds great,but today it was 85,and it sounds like crap! does this make sense? has anyone heard of this?

don't have an L but do you have an X pipe on your system? does flowmaster even make X pipes?

i do not know,and no i do not have an x-pipe,but this really sounds like sh##! i did not want to spend $600 for exhaust,but i may have no choice.

x-pipe? what does that actually do to make it sound different?

You NEED an X-pipe or some kind of crossover before the mufflers.

This equalizes the pressure between the two banks of cylinders in your engine, and helps the engine be more efficient.

It also helps a bunch with the 'shift fart' you hear when our engines are cold.

You should pick up some power, too, when you install it.

I think alot of people have had problems with the FLOWMASTERS on the L's

Some have even burnt the mufflers out or something???

well,i'll probably just put a new system on,but a little short of cash right now.kids do that to you sometimes. where can i get an x-pipe for now? thanks
