Fan Kit and Air Conditioning Question

Hey Guys,

Installed the JDM fan kit with optional switch and a/c relay. Had no issues, everything seemed OK. Now, however, when sitting still in traffic for protracted periods of time, the a/c stops being as cool, and occasionally blows warm air until I start moving again.

Is the a/c relay part of the fan kit not working correctly? Does anyone else see this happen?

It sound like you have the AC relay plugged in the wrong spot. The air is suppose to work anytime you have the AC turned on and the fan runs all the time. With the AC off fan only comes on when you need it.

I can check mine to make sure which wire and where we plugged it into in the fuse box under the hood.

Try checking the rotation of the fan..
When the fan turns on lift the hood and check that the air flow is being drawn through the fan, it is easy to reverse the polarity which will cause the fan to actually spin the other direction and push engine bay air through the condensor

OK, fan blows air correctly, polarities are all fine. A/C wiring in the battery junction box is fine, near as I can tell. Turn on the A/C though, and the fan doesn't come on. So now I'm kind of at a loss...

Make sure the a/c wire you tapped is correct, this can be accomplished with a test light...I use a fan which I designed and I use the gray wire off the compressor to kick on my fan.

Now it's looking like the a/c isn't the issue. The fan's not coming on no matter what I do now. The additional switch does it, so I could just drive around with the thang on, but that's pretty annoying too. Anyone got any idea why a JDM fan kit wouldn't be working?

Take the relays to a auto parts store and have them test them. You may have a bad relay.
