Basic questions regarding ET's and MPH

Recently I upgraded my mods and took her out to the track to see what kind of improvement it made. I made to runs, one being a 13.5x (truck was very hot), final run was a 13.28. My question is my MPH only went up about .3 of an mph, from a 101.2 to a 101.5. Other guys on here are running 2-3 tenths faster than I am but running over 4-5 mph faster in the 1/4. Is my truck slow? I just don't understand how I can be so close in ET but so far off in mph. I also had a 1.95 60' time, which was my personal best but it didn't really help me much. Thanks for schooling me on basic 1/4 mile questions.

I had the same problems, and then went to a custom chip with a dyno tune and gained .6 ET and 4mph in the 1/4. I also HAD a JL chip. It is now in a drawer in my house collecting dust.

The mph are a result of horse power while the ets are a result of torque(among other things too). Therefore, I think something is amiss--air temps, high humidity, head wind, or your spark plugs, chip tune--maybe???

With about the same mods(3lb pulley too) and M/T ET Streets, I got into the high 12s @ about 105 mph, so as was said in an infamous trial; "something wrong!"

One other thing that effects ET but not MPH so much is Traction difference...

I realized after running those times on Wednesday that something was amiss with my truck. I started to look around, I realized that the air temp sensor wasn't pushed all the way in, therefore the air wasn't actually passing through the sensor. Does anyone think that this could have been my problem? Thanks again for all the help.

I ran mine with the 2# pulley, Flipchip, and panel filter mod and ran 13.3 at 103.6mph. Traction was a big issue, as Speedworld down here (Orlando track) is heinious when it comes to actual track prep (one quick spray of the 0 to 60 foot area with VHT should do for the night... heh)

Anyways, speed/ET are dependent on a whole hoop of variables, with some big ones being traction and driver skill. Your mods should of had you running higher mph, and a bit better speed, but if you aren't a regular at the track then likely you aren't getting the best launch out of your truck. I am bad at that as well, with a 1.96 sec 60 foot being the best of the night... sad compared to many people's 1.7s and 1.8s on F1s.
