Angry How to get dried sap off?

This sap has been here for a while, it's pissing me off that I can't find anything to get it off. Any ideas??

p.s. For the search police, I tried searching, and even tried on google.com, couldn't come up with anything.

Wink Goo Gone

Have you tried Goo Gone. The stuff is made of orange peel juice and I have yet to find anything it can't remove. Best part is that it won't hurt your paint finish at all.

I second that. Goo Gone is great.
Hey Soap. Have you tried it to remove wax from plastic?

a little rubbing alcohol will take it off, don't scrub it though...put it on a q-tip or a soft cloth and let it kind of soak in, should wipe right off.....JR

If you guys would use Zaino instead of inferior products you wouldn't have to worry about rubbung wax off of plastic trim. Zaino wipes right off just like it was on the paint

This sounds too simple to work but I live among pine trees here in North Carolina. Use REALLY HOT water and dawn diswashing liquid, it works.

I have had good luck using Mothers paiste cleaner wax. stick your finger in and grab a chunk of the wax. Rub it over the sap, and let the solvents in the wax disolve the sap. Just keep the sap well covered and don't let the wax dry.

Second the alcohol suggestion, it works. If its hardened sap, you may need a rag soaked in it to set on the sap till it softens, but it will dissolve the sap eventually.

Thumbs up

Hey thank all for the help!

Tim, haven't tried the Hot water and soap, but will do that first thing tomorrow when I wake up. I'm doing the rubbing alcohol part right now. I'll let you all know if it works.

Hey Doug, I tried the WD-40 a while ago, just left smudge marks that I had to clean off.

If none of the above suggestions work, I'm going to have to get the goo gone, or try Don's suggestion. I was noticing (feeling the trucks paint), and it's ALL over the paint(the whole truck), probably from work. If none works above, I'm taking it to a detailer.

Thanks again for the suggestions and quick responses!

-Marcus

I'm not sure what it compares to. When I get a car with tree sap and it is fresh tree sap, then I scrap the top of it with a razor to expose the soft center and hit it with Prowax's Pro-Sol.

If it has been there some time and baked on, then I chip as much of it off as I can with a razor and then get the rest with ProWax's Power-Sol.

I tell people if they get fresh tree sap on their car then to put mayo on it. It takes fresh tree sap off.

Inferior products?????

I guess I'll just stick with my inferior Cherry Wet. Maybe next time IF Zany bros feels like shipping I'll buy the superior product. Do responses to questions really need to contain subtle insults? My wax is better than yours--Red is faster than blue-- My tuner can whup your tuner--what I use is better than what you use.......

Edit!!!!!

OOPS! regroup. Sorry Soap. Totally missed the smiley. Apologies. I'm not in a happy mood. Time for a new job. This one is old.

Don

Try using a clay bar. I have used it several times for tree sap. Very quick and easy.
