If they were only 20k, then there would be 10x the number of them on the road... they wouldnt be the special truck they are today.. every Tom, **** and Harry would have one.. you would see them with campers on them, etc...
I have owned more than 40 vehicles in the 28 yrs since I have gotten my drivers license and this is BY FAR the most fun, fast, enjoyable and usuable vehicle I have ever had... heck if they were 20k new, you might by 3 since a used one could be had for 15k...
just my .02

SVT stands for
Performance
Substance
Exclusivity
Value

Because SVT's are considered very limited production vehicles(production is limited), Lightnings would still be selling for the same price it is right now, because dealer's would tack on that white sticker with the regional market demand markup.

If Lightnings were only $20k, that would fatten the walletts of only the dealers, which would include those ignorant ones that we wish would just go out of buisness. Lightnings selling for $20k would make owning one much harder since they would sell so quickly.

If the Lightning was an limited production/exclusive vehicle, SVT would have stopped production in 2001 instead of increasing production and continuing sales in 2002. Now (IMO) it's just another truck on the road. There are several used Lightning for sale in this area and they aren't selling. Why? You can wait and buy a new one. If they were limited and exclusive, used ones wouldn't stay on lots for 7 - 8 months.

Oops, sorry

I should have been more specific. I should have said that was SVT's slogan, not what it stands for.
