OMG the warrenty

I went to Joe Myers(sp?) Ford yesterday and was looking to buy when i asked if putting exhaust on would void the warrenty since i have read the horror stories about warrenties. They said that would void the warrenty, even an aftermarket filter would void the warrenty. The last stray was that when i asked if i could sell the dealer back the wheels since i was getting some first thing they manager said after market wheels will void the warrenty too.
The salesman even had the nerve to laugh at my trade in vehicle. I guess if you own a blazer your not good enough for a lightning. I hope not all dealers are like this in Texas since this is the attitude i have gotten so far in Houston.

Dealers like him should stick to selling used Escort's, Pinto's, Yugo's and occasionally a Chevy Vega or two.

Yep, they are ignorant! Anyone ever heard of the Magnuson Moss act? It is amazing what some dealers will say! Tommie Vaughn is an excellent dealer for sure, give them your business!

That is some of the biggest load of crap i've ever heard, but don't fear, because Ford dealers arn't the only ones that pull that crap. Back when I was depressed over my lemon Cobra, and I actually comtemplated getting an import.............I hung around on some of the import boards and they get it bad too. One of the guys bought a brand new Acura RSX Type S and the tranny went out after 3000 miles. His dealership voided his warranty saying that his aftermarket highperformance intake caused the transmission to go out!!! I havn't been there since then, but I heard he got a lawyer and got it straightened out. Luckily, my dealership doesn't have much of a beef against mods, except for 1 ****head service writer who I won't name. The manager of the service department even told me he doesn't care what you do to your car, as long as it doesn't affect the reliability of it, but that there are a couple guys who work in the service department who make a hobby of trying to void warranties.

I hate dealers, i cant believe they just blatantly lied to you like that. I would call the higher ranks of that dealer and let them know what their employees are doing.

The Dealer was Joe Myers(sp?) out on 290 and the sales man was Brad something. I ripped up all the buisness cards i got from them so i dont know there names anymore. Ive been to Tommie Vaughn Ford before and there nice but wont let me purchase on the x-plan. Only dealer so far that i have found to offer x-plan in Texas is Orange county Ford out towards Louisiana and they want $29,800.
